This pioneer Climate Justice Media Award project is a Media based initiative which WORLD ECHOES MEDIA GROUP a Multidimensional News agency came up with last year as she decided to strengthen and intensify campaigns against climate change. Starting first with promoting initiative through a news making event, that is national a press award, that brings in all media men and women on board on the moving train of global actors against climate change. The mission was to motivate, encourage and create awareness on the selfless contributions of institutions, individuals, organizations to nature protection and biodiversity conservation plus ecotourism.
The occasion was used to raise awareness among journalists about eco friendly practices in their reports and media outreach activities, by making them commit to community-based media reporting that fosters sustainable development and restoration of nature. The project created the much needed awareness in Cameroon as it brought all actors on board and the news went viral over all social media circles and platforms. The project gainfully gave media men on the occasion the opportunity to create a network at the climate village called Cameroon Climate Journalism Network (CCJN) and a Coalition to combat climate change, which today became major institutions fighting climate change on all fronts from the media perspectives.
